A Letter from Lee Bice
of the Quacker Factory

Hi Gang!!

Wow, I am so sorry I missed a month! I honestly didn’t realize it until I sat down to write this and discovered I was a month behind. So, so sorry! I will excuse myself by telling you I got all swept up in a huge redecorating project in my house, and then it looked so pretty I decided to throw myself a big 45th birthday bash. My birthday is Feb. 17th, and for those of you who know Barbara, the Quacker Cop, I’m happy to report that she showed up at my door to surprise me and to represent all you Quacks at my shindig. Two days after that, I went traveling with our beloved Cruise Director, David Fritz, to an exciting site inspection of Branson, in the lovely “Show-Me” state of Missouri, home to our latest and greatest Quacker Traveling Adventures.

“What happened to the column you promised about sisters?” you ask. Trust me, you want to hear about Branson way more than what little I know about sisters. But worry not, I will return to the wonderful world of siblings again soon.

Now, on to the fun stuff!!   Please, please, please if you can, come on this trip with us. David and I fell in love with this town immediately. Set in the beautiful Ozark Mountains, even in late February the scenery was outstanding. There are two stunning lakes and great stone outcroppings everywhere. The town itself is actually very quaint for a place where the tourist season tops out to a population of around two million. In the off-season, the population settles to a sweet six thousand souls. How incredible is that? And believe me it has all the charm and kindness and friendliness that you would expect from a small Midwest town. I’m told it remains that way even when inundated with the masses. It has fun kitschy buildings that, for those of you who have been to Kissimmee, FL or Pigeon Forge, TN will be familiar with. For instance, the ice cream building is shaped and painted like an ice cream cone and likewise the Titanic Museum is a scale model of the ship itself.  How fun!! There is so much to do and see. I even went so far as to venture, that if not for the cold and snow, I would want to move there myself. (But, alas I am a tropical gal.) Even so, David and I are thinking about getting a small vacation place there to share so we can spend lots of time there. We met so many fantastic people there, and three of whom we call friends. We would like to continue that friendship if we can.

And who are those three? Why they just happen to be our three lovely guides and representatives in Branson. These women have worked so incredibly hard at putting together this fun package for the Quacks, and at bending over backwards welcoming us and entertaining us that we were actually awed. But it turns out they are loads of fun too and we have all bonded. I’d go back just to see them. Do I sound glowing enough yet? I don’t think I can go too far overboard in my praise for these ladies. Come meet Tina, Becky, and Denise for yourselves if you can.

Now, more about the town, and then a bit about the trip. There is just so much to do in Branson. The new river walk area has shopping and dining, along with a fabulous fire and water fountain show just like Vegas, only a bit smaller. Three outlet malls for people looking for a deal. Indoor and outdoor water slides and miniature golf. Antiquing and a trout hatchery to explore. Lakes and boating. Golfing and camping. An amusement park. Fun museums like Titanic, Roy Rogers, and Ripley’s “Believe It or Not.” And don’t forget the shows!! There are 52 theaters with over 100 shows! I swear, if you can’t find something to entertain you in Branson, then you must have no funny bone.

David and the ladies have put together what I think is really a first rate program. Shows and shopping and parties and lots of quality time with Jeanne. You’ll get lots of bang for your buck, and in these bleak financial times, that means a lot, so treat yourself to a little entertainment. We won’t be tightening our belts forever, and a little fun relieves a lot of stress. For more details about what is included in this package click below, and check out David’s site. Early sign ups get $100 off. And stay tuned for more Quacker Traveling Adventures to come.

Love, Peace, and Quacks
